In 2019, Dave Broun and Tim Frodsham founded Valley Verges to respond to the urgent environmental and social challenges facing urban communities.
Our purpose is to:
Restore biodiversity in highly urbanised environments by planting native species and creating pollinator habitats.
Foster community resilience by strengthening social connections and offering inclusive, hands-on projects.
Mitigate urban heat island effects through increased canopy cover and sustainable landscaping.
Create accessible, educational spaces that bring people together in climate-positive action.
Promote a collaborative model that unites community members, local government, researchers, and environmental organisations
We’ve organised and recruited a highly skilled decision-making committee with backgrounds in ecology, education, landscape architecture, design, communications, community engagement, planning, and enthusiasm for plain old green thumb gardening.
